What this page covers
This disclaimer applies to everything Atlas Health LLC publishes: our website, emails, text messages, coaching content, and social media. It explains the limits of that content and the role of your care team. It is part of our Terms of Use.
Our content is not medical advice
The information on our site is for general education. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and reading it does not create a clinician-patient relationship with Atlas or with anyone else. Do not use our content to diagnose or treat a condition, to start or stop a medication, or in place of advice from a licensed clinician who knows your history. Never ignore or delay medical advice because of something you read here.
Statements about how treatments work describe general research or clinical use. They do not predict how a treatment will work for you.
Who provides medical care
Atlas is not a medical practice, a pharmacy, or a laboratory, and it does not employ clinicians. Medical care for Atlas members is provided by OpenLoop Healthcare Partners, PC and its affiliated professional entities, through independent licensed clinicians.
Those clinicians make every decision about whether you are a candidate for care, what treatment, if any, is appropriate, and how your treatment is managed. Atlas does not influence those decisions. Prescription medications are dispensed by licensed pharmacies chosen by your care team.
No guarantee of prescription or results
Joining Atlas does not guarantee that a clinician will prescribe any medication or accept you into any program. Your care team may decline to treat you, require lab work first, or choose a different approach than the one you expected.
Results vary from person to person. Weight, hormone levels, and other outcomes depend on your health, your adherence, and factors no one controls. Any figures we cite come from published studies or general clinical experience and are not promises about your outcome.
About prescription and compounded medications
Prescription medications carry risks and side effects. Your clinician will discuss them with you, and the pharmacy will provide medication information. Read it, and contact your care team with questions.
Some medications available through your care team may be compounded. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for an individual patient based on a prescription. They are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are dispensed. Your clinician will tell you if a medication they prescribe is compounded.
Emergencies
Atlas and your care team do not provide emergency services and do not monitor messages around the clock. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline in the United States.
Member stories and photos
Member stories, photos, and quotes on our site describe individual experiences. They are not typical results and are not a promise of what you will experience. Where a story involves a prescription treatment, the decision to prescribe was made by a licensed clinician based on that person’s history.
